Leaving Hopar we cross the Bualter Glacier and trek on the grassy hillside high above the Barpu Glacier. After 4 hours we reach the small shepherd’s settlement of Hapukunand one hour later reach Hamdar. After crossing the Bualter Glacier, which can take anywhere between 4 to 5 hours depending upon the route, we Trip Itinerary arrive at our campsite right in between the Bualter and the Barpu Glaciers 3000 m.Overnight Camping at Barpo Giram.
Crossing the Barpu Glacier is easier than the Bualter and the walking is basically done in an ablation valley of the Barpu. The shepherd’s settlement at Chukutans is a great place for a lunch stop and marks the start of a much-improved path that runs all the way to Brikchour. In about 5 hours we will reach Brichkoor campsite, during this part of the walk we have beautiful views of Ultar, Diran, and Spantik peaks. Overnight Camping at Brikchour.
This is a steep relentless tough climb The trail rises in a series of zigzags directly behind camp gaining 700m up a dry and dusty path with few places to stop and rest. The trail leads directly to the crest of the ridge that separates the valley of the Barpu Glacier from the Hispar to the North. The trail turns Southwards and follows the broad crest of this ridge over a less steep group for a further 350m to reach the campsite at Chiden Haral. It takes about 6 hours to get to the campsite. The views of the peaks above the Hispar Glacier are outstanding. Overnight Camping at Rush Lake.
Today after an early breakfast peak ascent start is required to get a good chance of clear skies and the best views of the more distant peaks. With favorable conditions, we should reach the top about 3-4 hours as the trail is easy for most of the way, ascending grass covered slopes and passing along the shores of Rush lake (4,660m). The tough section is only the final 150m climb of the summit cone which needs to be climbed with care (5-7hrs round trip).Overnight Camping at Rush Lake.
Free morning for excursions and photography, nature watching, and hiking. Afternoon descent follows the same path that was ascended. The ground is steep and dusty as the path is very ‘direct’ dropping 900m in a very short distance and it will take 3-4 hours. Overnight stay in Gutons.
Today we walk on the east side of the Barpu Glacier as compared to when we were going up to Rush Lake passing several large flat areas of grassland surrounded by trees. The route follows the ablation valley on the East side of the Barpu glacier. In about 4 hours we return to Hoper village after crossing the difficult Bualter Glacier and a final steep climb up a moraine. After lunch, we will depart for Gulmit en route we will stop at Attabad Lake then further drive to Gulmit arrival in Gulmit check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Gulmit.

Terraced villages dot this monumental terrain, supported by traditional farming methods and lifestyles that have changed little over the centuries. arrival in Besham check-in at the hotel. 1. Team building: It takes time to formulate a good team. We go through all incoming applications and formulate the best team of mountaineers (on the basis of experience). Although our vet process is not very strict, our top priority is always the safety of fellow climbers. We will not accept all applications only to maximize the number of the mountaineers.
2. Logistics: Our climbing adventures involve a lot of logistics. This includes reserving/assigning high altitude porters, guides and other staff in advance. It also involves a lot of procurement (equipment, food etc). This is not possible during the last hours. During winters expeditions, most of the supplies are transported to base camps two to three months prior to the expedition because winters in the mountains of Pakistan are very harsh and it becomes almost impossible to for porters to walk through the trail with heavy supplies.
3. Permit: Pakistani government tourism laws require tour operators to submit applications for climbing (along with all documents e.g. passport copies, photos, CVs etc) at least 70 days prior to arrival in Pakistan.
4. Price changes: The given prices are early bird discount offers and are subject to change. There can be increases in price after January. Service providers including (but not limited) to hotels increase prices in peak-season. Early reservations cost less than peak-season (May to September). Our prices will not change once you have paid the deposit so the price when you book is the price you will pay. Register yourselves early to avoid increase in holiday prices.
5. Pay less deposit: Given below is our deposit schedule for 2022 departures.
8 months before departure (deposit: 35%)
5 months before departure (deposit: 40%)
3 months before departure (deposit: 50%)
1 months before departure (deposit: 60%)
